Windham Christian Academy
Wanda Harper, Principal

History
Windham Christian Academy was founded in 1989 as a integral ministry of Christian Life Assembly for the purpose of offering an affordable Christian alternative to secular education. Grades taught are 1 through 8.

Purpose
To provide a sound academic education with high scholastic standards, based on an evangelical Christian view of God and the world.

To offer a curriculum designed to combine the intellectual and spiritual, as well as the social and physical requirements of the student. The cultural and artistic interest add balance.

To help children mature in such a way that they will develop lives of useful service to Christ, the church, and mankind.

To cooperate with other Christian efforts having similar purposes, including the church and the home.

Teaching Objectives
The key ingredient to excellence in education is experienced teachers, fully committed to the Lord Jesus Christ. The teacher, teamed with the parent and church body, strives to impart knowledge and develop skills, as well as to teach the student to apply himself and fulfill his responsibilities.

The student is taught to work independently, as well as cooperatively when in group relationships, and how to think and hold to his convictions under pressure.

Our American heritage, balanced with teaching on current national and world events, is factually presented to foster civic participation and prepare the student for adult citizenship responsibilities.

Most important, God the Creator, the Sustainer and the Author of all life, is the center of all teaching. The Bible, with textbooks, is used to illuminate and give purpose to academic subjects.

Curriculum
Windham Christian Academy students receive instruction in a traditional graded classroom setting, with emphasis placed on the basic academic subjects.

Bible is studied throughout the grade levels. Other subjects include music, art, computes, cooking, and an active physical education program. Classes are small, which gives teachers opportunity to provide individual attention. (Current teacher/student ratio is 10:1.) National SAT testing results show that our students consistently score in the upper percentile of their age groups.

Faculty
Faculty members are fully certified and well equipped both academically and spiritually.

Non-discrimination Policy
Windham Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and other school-administered programs.
